I am the founder of Yamacu, a West African fusion food and beverage company that specializes in locally handcrafted all natural fresh ginger drinks and seasonal meals. I love bringing people together over healthy and diverse food and drinks. I also love using my passion for all things delicious and Africa to create a cultural bridge by taking the normal and making it deliciously different with my Yamacu line of fresh pressed ginger drinks as well as my Yamacu Food. I currently work out of a fantastic shared kitchen in Dorchester called Commonwealth Kitchen and just opened my owned brick and mortar location in Roxbury.
I started this business as a way to educate my children about African countries, language and culture through food and soon found that it was a message and need that resonated with a lot of people in my community. Today, I bring Yamacu ginger drinks and food to over 20 farmers markets a week throughout the greater Boston area and love to tell my customers and curious by passers about Mali and other West African countries as they sample all of the goodies we have.
