The Distillery at South Shore is the culmination of a multi-year vision to be Pittsburgh’s representation of other successful iterations of the concentrated, multi-faceted, locally-sourced marketplace.

Our Story

A historic landmark is being reborn in Pittsburgh's South Shore!Designed as a community gathering spot with a focus on hand-crafted food, spirits, and wares, The Distillery at South Shore will feature a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, a 5,000 square foot craft spirits distillery, and a tasting room with walk-up access from the Riverwalk, an eclectic artisanal marketplace with local merchants sharing their craft, a rooftop bar with expansive views of downtown Pittsburgh, and much more. This project will give new life to a historic landmark, the Joseph S. Finch & Co building, the last pre-prohibition whiskey distillery in the city of Pittsburgh. The Distillery at South Shore seeks to leverage the burgeoning farm-to-table, locally sourced, craft, and artisanal trends in the marketplace and create an overarching aesthetic around them. We seek to provide Pittsburgh with an experienced-focused, rooftop and riverside entertainment venue, capitalizing on the city's magnificent skyline view from the South Shore. The Distillery at South Shore has partnered with seven-year operator Big Spring Spirits to serve as anchor and spirits producer.
Our Ambition

The funds raised will be used to purchase equipment for the renovation and buildout of the historic Joseph S. Finch & Co building. The five-floor building will house a number of tenants and concepts including a galley-style restaurant featuring local Pittsburgh chefs, a premier cigar club, as well as a private event center to welcome wedding parties, expositions, and corporate events. The funds raised through Honeycomb will finance these specific portions of the project.
