I started Decades Beauty Bar & Boutique as a full-service hair salon and boutique. I provide hair, makeup, and apparel services to the community. Our physical operation is a storefront located at 626 Lake Ave., Rochester, N.Y. 14613. I started this business in January of 2000 to serve the community and provide women with a way to feel good about themselves. I am grateful that my daughter has followed in my footsteps and has inherited my passion for entrepreneurship and beauty services. She and my grandchildren are the reason I am building this legacy. I have built a loyal clientele who trust me and refuse to go elsewhere. Some of them have been with me since the beginning because at my salon, they find more than beauty services; they find community. Like many in our country, we struggled during the pandemic, but because of the support and love of our clientele, we made it through. I have the space and capacity for growth and want to foster aspiring young women like my daughter. After more than 20 years, my salon needs a makeover too. As a team, my daughter and I are updating our equipment, adding stations, and beautifying both inside and out.
