Our Story
Popoca serves Salvadoran-inspired food. Our mission is to find and preserve techniques from the past to bring you a new and authentic experience in Oakland. Inspired by traditional wood-fire cooking and recipes. Popoca translates this into a sit-down restaurant serving dinner 5 nights a week, and a late-night bar.
Our Ambition
We want our first location to be a destination restaurant in Oakland as well as to support our immediate neighborhood & community. Within the first 3-5 years, we strive to open our second location in the Bay Area, a fast-casual Salvadoran Rotisserie and Pupusa concept. Our goal is to develop a thoughtfully franchisable model which can expand to various other locations in the Bay. We want to build our brand to offer retail items such as condiments in markets like Whole Foods & Berkeley Bowl.
