Hungry Bird Eats was founded in late 2016 to create healthy Scandinavian inspired real-food snacks for kids and adults. After a temporary setback in 2018 when our first Brooklyn commercial kitchen closed unexpectedly, we launched again in 2020 in a small commercial kitchen space in New Jersey. Recently Hungry Bird received the Good Food Award from the Good Food Foundation, which recognizes food products with exceptional taste and a deep commitment to social responsibility. The Good Food Awards recognize that truly good food – the kind that brings people together and builds strong, healthy communities, contains ingredients that are invaluable both socially and practically. We continue on a mission towards a sustainable future in the food space, including using a local packaging manufacturer that uses solar panels, and recycles paper, ink, and even the printing plates. We are proud to be a women-owned and minority-owned (BIPOC) small business. Hungry Bird Eats currently produces five lines of Nordic Crisps (including 'RYE + SEA SALT', and gluten-free 'MULTI-SEEDS + OREGANO', ‘FENNEL + ONION’, ‘SUMAC + THYME’, and ‘RYE + EVERYTHING’), and two lines of granola. Our products are hand-made in our nut-free commercial kitchen space, using organic, non-GMO ingredients. We sell direct to consumers through our website and have expanded relationships with retailers and distributors to grow our footprint in over 250 brick-and-mortar stores nationwide. Our mission is to expand access to our products nationally and make them a household name representing clean, healthy, delicious snacks that are produced in a sustainable and socially responsible way.
