Hungry Bird Eats was founded in late 2016 to create healthy Scandinavian inspired real-food snacks for kids and adults. After a temporary setback in 2018 when our first Brooklyn commercial kitchen closed unexpectedly, we launched again in 2020 in a small commercial kitchen space in New Jersey.
Recently Hungry Bird received the Good Food Award from the Good Food Foundation, which recognizes food products with exceptional taste and a deep commitment to social responsibility. The Good Food Awards recognize that truly good food the kind that brings people together and builds strong, healthy communities, contains ingredients that are invaluable both socially and practically. We continue on a mission towards a sustainable future in the food space, including using a local packaging manufacturer that uses solar panels, and recycles paper, ink, and even the printing plates. We are proud to be a women-owned and minority-owned (BIPOC) small business.
Hungry Bird Eats currently produces five lines of Nordic Crisps (including 'RYE + SEA SALT', and gluten-free 'MULTI-SEEDS + OREGANO', FENNEL + ONION, SUMAC + THYME, and RYE + EVERYTHING), and two lines of granola. Our products are hand-made in our nut-free commercial kitchen space, using organic, non-GMO ingredients. We sell direct to consumers through our website and have expanded relationships with retailers and distributors to grow our footprint in over 250 brick-and-mortar stores nationwide. Our mission is to expand access to our products nationally and make them a household name representing clean, healthy, delicious snacks that are produced in a sustainable and socially responsible way.
