Artisan-made goods handmade in small batches
Batch was founded in March of 2014. We are on the Main street of Saxonburg, just 40 minutes north of Pittsburgh. Batch’s name is derived directly from our style of cooking and the artisan-made goods that we carry – handmade in small batches. Our intent is to rekindle the simplicity of flavors we once enjoyed as children and that the generations before us enjoyed, too, but with a modern twist. We began with jams and jellies and then grew to make soups, breads and small batch meals. We still go to farmers markets and pop up markets with our jams which is still one of our favorite things to do.
These funds will go directly to help pay for our production costs and the re-branding of our jams and jellies. We will be taking three of our recipes, Black Blue and Bourbon, Monkey Butter, and Garlic and Hot Pepper, and having the Pittsburgh Pickle Co jar our jams in a much larger quantity. This requires a lot of upfront costs – testing, jars, produce, shelving, packaging, new label design and the cost of labor. The money will also be going towards redoing our website for e-commerce so that we can reach more customers.
